Are you interested in being immersed in a new artistic and cultural world? A residency provides the chance to gain broad insight into a different context, establish connections with local artists and develop collaborations.  

This is the first year that our residency programme includes the Central, East and West Africa regions together with Southern Africa. 

WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY
The Pro Helvetia residency programme is open to cultural practitioners from Switzerland(e.g. artists, curators, cultural intermediaries) and cultural practitioners from Southern, Central, East and West Africa. 

Cultural practitioners from Switzerland can apply for residencies in Southern, West, Central or East Africa, and cultural practitioners from these regions on the subcontinent can apply for residencies in Switzerland. 

WHAT ARTISTIC DISCIPLINES ARE SUPPORTED
Cultural practitioners in the fields of visual arts, design and interactive media, music, literature and performing arts, as well as arts practitioners with a transdisciplinary focus are eligible to apply.

DURATION
Up to 3 months, to take place in 2022.

WHAT IS COVERED
Pro Helvetia provides accommodation, daily allowances, professional supervision, travel expenses, a contribution towards production and material costs (on request) and a workplace (on request).
