I have a relationship with my work

Organized by La Becque, Artist Communities is a new quarterly cycle of public meetings and conversations between artists and actors of contemporary creation. Based primarily on the concept of "community", each discussion circle offers the public the opportunity to exchange with the speakers on their practices and experiences with regard to current themes.

This first discussion will look at possible worlds, whether past or present. Through this invitation to poetic retellings, we will explore the facets of relationships that emerge in artistic works. What is at the core? What do we share of them and what slips between our fingers?

As we move through narratives, myths and stories, we will take the opportunity to explore the notion of the playground. We would like to invite you to join us in considering how the playground can also be a place where dissenting opinions are tested. Whether you speak out of joy, anger, or confusion, this invitation is the threshold that will perhaps open the conditions for many dialogues, present or future.

During this conversation, the artists Madison Bycroft, Ife Day and Dominique White will share the methods by which their work became an extension of their resistance. The artwork itself can be reflexive yet autonomous and can sometimes carry the ambivalence of conflicting perspectives. Amid this permeability, what tools do we need to use to be more responsible? And to what extent is this possible?
