Dreaming the Sound of Darkness

The installation consists of the projection of four videos onto four flat monitors positioned next to each other.

Every video juxtaposes footage of contradictory realities. Scenes with natural light such as candles, stars or fireflies alternate with scenes highlighting light pollution. The shots are interspersed with black sequences, artificial or blinding lights that flow horizontally from one screen to the other.

The romantic connotation usually attributed to light is cancelled out in the video by blinding flashes of artificial light and the deafening sound of a nuclear power plant reactor and its alarm sirens.
