200km tanzend durch das Wallis

To celebrate the 70th anniversary of EDHEA, its director Jean-Paul Felley invites Foofwa d’Imobilité (dancer, performer, choreographer, mediator, dance teacher and artistic director of the Neopost Foofwa Company) to create a huge Dancewalk in Valais, which will run from the Rhône glacier to Lake Geneva, from September 27th to October 6th, 2019.

During his 200 km journey, Foofwa d’Imobilité will be joined by dancers, musicians, students and various audiences, met upstream during workshops or during the crossing of the territory.

The Dancewalk is discipline in between dance and walk. It links culture and sport and questions the notion of performance. The Dancewalk – Ultra Valais, organised by EDHEA, is then at the crossroads of contemporary art, performance, dance and theatre, and addressed various societal issues linked to Valais’ particularities by crossing heterogeneous places: train, nature, industry, the Valais fair, fields and vineyards, the Rhone glacier… Each section reflects an aspect of the territory and its history and offers critical and transdisciplinary reflection to participants while celebrating living together and sharing.

Each day will be closed with a convivial evening, open to everyone.
