Die zunehmende Popularität der Art brut führt zu immer mehr Gründungen von Art-brut-Museen und wirkt sich auf den zeitgenössischen Kunstbetrieb aus. Ein Grund dafür mag sein, dass die wachsende Virtualisierung unserer Lebenswelt zum Ausgleich Authentizität und haptische Qualitäten verlangt.
