Angesichts des seit einigen Jahren herrschenden Booms von asiatischer Kunst im Ausstellungsbetrieb und auf dem Kunstmarkt verfolgt das ZKM mit seiner Präsentation das Anliegen, die Kunstproduktion aus Asien von innen heraus, aus einem alternativen Blickwinkel und vor dem Hintergrund von Gegenmodellen zu westlichen, kolonialen Diskursen zu vermitteln.
