Erstaunlich, das Werk von Mona Hatoum wurde in der Schweiz bisher wenig gezeigt. Zwar hat sie 2004 im Kunsthaus Zürich den Roswitha Haftmann-Preis, die höchstdotierte Auszeichnung für Kunst in Europa, erhalten. Dennoch war sie bisher nur mit einzelnen Arbeiten in der Kunsthalle Basel oder im Kunsthaus Aarau präsent. Dies ändert sich nun, denn Hatoum hat soeben in der Hochschule der Künste Bern die permanente Installation "Silver Lining" realisiert. Als Expertin der Kantonalen Kunstkommission war die Künstlerin Lisa Hoever involviert.
