Erstmals wird Mark Wallingers (*1959) Werk ausserhalb Englands in dieser Breite gezeigt. Einigen dürfte die Arbeit bereits durch seine Teilnahme an der viel diskutierten Ausstellung «Sensation» bekannt sein. In der Zeit des Thatcherismus gross geworden, geht es Wallinger vor allem um die beiden Komplexe Identität und Repräsentation, deren sensible Dekonstruktion nationale, politische und kulturelle Codes blosslegt.
