En 1984, regrettant la fermeture de la dernière galerie genevoise consacrée à la photographie, un groupe de photographes et de collectionneurs fondaient le «Centre de la photographie, Genève». Soutenu par une association, subventionné par la Ville de Genève, le Centre a nommé une nouvelle directrice, Pauline Gygax qui, depuis le mois de février dernier, lui donne une nouvelle actualité.
