1974 zeigte Johannes Gachnang in
der Kunsthalle Bern fast die gesamte künstlerische Produktion des Jahres 1973 von On Kawara. Es war die erste grössere Ausstellung des japanischen Konzeptkünstlers überhaupt. Unter dem Titel «Consciousness. Meditation. Watcher on the hills» ist nun – zusammengestellt von der Ikon Gallery in Birmingham und vom Consortium in Dijon – im Genfer Centre d’Art Contemporain erneut eine bedeutende Auswahl seiner Werke zu sehen.
