Belarusian Sundays in Red and White

In this project I wanted to show who they are: mothers, daughters, women of different age, professions and interests. Observing their everyday life you can never imagine how fulfilled with courage and resolved they are. Every lady who’s not afraid of going outside with flowers is a heroine.» K. Halubovich

Belarusian Sundays in Red and White
Perspektiven von elf belarusischen Fotografinnen

VERLÄMGERT BIS 2. JANUAR 2021

The Month of Photography in Minsk» eingegangen.

The public protests in Belarus began on August 9, 2020, and continue to this day. The peaceful movement against election fraud and violence and for democracy are widely supported. Women have taken on a prominent role. Among them are many female photographers that despite the spiraling brutality of Lukashenko’s crackdown, take to the streets weekend after weekend in order to document the events from their perspective. The Henry-Dunant-Museum succeeded to enter on short notice into a cooperation with the festival “The Month of Photography in Minsk” . The «Dunant Plaza» features in an installation eleven female photographers that affords us to gain insights into the current situation in Belarus.
