Walead Beshtys (*1976, in London UK) Kunstwerke sind meist geometrisch-abstrakt geformt und industriell hergestellt. Das erinnert an die Grundsätze der Minimal Art. Doch Beshty versteht seine Werke nicht als autonome Objekte, die sich im Zusammenspiel mit dem Ausstellungsraum und den Betrachtenden entfalten. Vielmehr sieht er sie innerhalb eines weiter gefassten Umfelds, in denen sie produziert, transportiert, installiert, ausgestellt, betrachtet, gehandelt und besprochen werden.
