Call for 2020 Studio Residencies!

Southern African Artists: residency in Switzerland.

Swiss Artists: residency in the Southern Africa (SADC) region.

Pro Helvetia Johannesburg invites artists from Switzerland and Southern Africa to apply for studio residencies in 2020 supported and facilitated by our office. A studio residency (up to 3 months) gives artists the chance to gain a broad insight into a different cultural environment. The aim of the residency is to find inspiration, establish networks and contemplate new projects and networks.

Selection criteria include a convincing track record, personal artistic activity above and beyond a regional level, context-related motivation, adequate foreign language skills.

In addition to workspace and accommodation, Pro Helvetia will provide coaching support, cover the cost of travel, insurances and per diem expenses. Applicants may not benefit more than three times in total from a Pro Helvetia studio residency.

For residencies taking place in 2020, applications can be submitted until 1 March 2019 via www.myprohelvetia.ch. Applications must be written in English.
