Introduction and comments by Dr. Eberhard Fischer, Manish Soni und Srikanth Srinivasan

Produced by art historian Dr. Eberhard Fischer and directed by Indian auteur Amit Dutta, Nainsukh (2010) is an art-historically rigorous, formally playful screen biography of the eighteenth-century Indian miniature painter Nainsukh. Shot in the real locations in the mountains of Northern India where the master painter lived and worked, this immersive film brings the painter’s works to life, offering vivid reimaginations of the circumstances of their making.
