Meret Oppenheim erfuhr erst ab den Achtzigerjahren späte Anerkennung. Direkt neben dem Bahnhof Basel SBB ist sie jetzt mit einem neuen Brunnen präsent, der in arbeitsteiliger Produktion realisiert wurde. Er geht auf das Konzept zurück, das die Künstlerin noch zu Lebzeiten für einen Garten der École Polytechnique Montagne Sainte-Geneviève in Paris vorsah.
