Adolf Wölfli war von 1895 bis zu seinem Tod in der psychiatrischen Heilanstalt Waldau in Bern interniert. Er schuf dort ein gigantisches Œuvre. Das Zentrum Paul Klee zeigt eine Schau, die neben seinen Schriften, Collagen und Zeichnungen auch seine gewaltigen, selbstgebundenen Hefte präsentiert.
