Weltweit sind momentan 28 Millionen Menschen auf der Flucht. Damit umfasst die Zahl der von der UNO anerkannten Flüchtlinge etwa das Vierfache der Schweizer Bevölkerung. Die Information ist ein Abstraktum, denn es übersteigt das Vorstellungsvermögen, welche individuellen Schicksale und globalen Machtstrukturen dahinter stehen. Was wäre, wenn diese Flüchtlinge einen eigenen Staat bildeten? Dies untersucht Ingo Günther mit seinem Projekt «Refugee Republic», das jetzt in seiner umfassenden Düsseldorfer Ausstellung einen zentralen Platz einnimmt.
