Thomas Kapielski (*1950) ist wohl der bekannteste unbekannte Künstler Berlins. Als Fotograf, Musiker, Performer und Autor machte er sich in der Szene einen Namen. 1988 flog er als Medienredakteur bei der taz raus, weil er in einem Artikel das Wort «gaskammervoll» benutzte. Seit sich die grossen Feuilletons, Verlage und Galerien für ihn interessieren, ist Kapielskis Status als ewiger Underdog gefährdet.
