Pour sa première rétrospective en France de l’artiste américain John Miller, Yves Aupetitallot et Lionel Bovier ont choisi de réunir au Magasin ses pièces en les répartissant de façon chronologique, à partir de 1983, selon cinq modules: peintures figuratives, dessins des années 80, reliefs et sculptures, séries de photographies, peintures de jeux télé. On comprend ainsi comment l’artiste a traversé l’emphase picturale des années 80, théories post-structuralistes dans la poche, et par quelles voies il a développé sa pratique artistique entre abjection et néo-critique de l’inconscient.
