Mittlerweile ist die Verwendung lebender Pflanzen als Medium für Künstler weit verbreitet. Das Spektrum reicht von skulpturalen Experimenten mit einzelnen Pflanzen (Laura Stein) über hybride Biotope (N 55) bis zu komplexen Gartenanlagen (Lothar Baumgarten). Noch ist ungewiss, ob das oft widerspenstige und pflegeintensive Medium als Kunstforum eine Zukunft hat.
