IKOB – Kunstpreis für feministische Kunst / Prix d’Art pour l’art feministe / Art prize for feminist art

2019 ruft das IKOB - Museum für Zeitgenössische Kunst in Eupen zum ersten Mal in seiner 26-jährigen Geschichte den IKOB - Kunstpreis ausdrücklich als Preis für feministische Kunst aus. Eingeladen sind sowohl Künstlerinnen als auch Künstler, deren Arbeit einen Beitrag zu der Verbreitung feministischer Ideen und Ideale leisten. Teilnahmeberechtigt sind Kunstschaffende aus Belgien, den Niederlanden, Luxemburg und Deutschland, sowie explizit auch aus Ostbelgien, die bis zum 1. September 2019 ein digitales Portfolio einreichen.

Das Portfolio sollte folgende Informationen enthalten:
Eine kurze Biografie, eine Liste der wichtigsten Ausstellungsbeteiligungen, eine kurze Erläuterung, wie sich der eigene Bezug zum Thema des Feminismus darstellt, sowie Abbildungen relevanter Werke. Der wichtigste Teil der Bewerbung ist ein Entwurf einer noch zu realisierenden Arbeit, die im Falle des Gewinns eines Preises bis zur Eröffnung der dazu folgenden Ausstellung am 20. Oktober 2019 im IKOB - Museum für Zeitgenössische Kunst in Eupen umgesetzt werden sollte.

Das Portfolio sollte die Größe von 10 MB nicht überschreiten und an folgende Adresse gesendet werden: artprize@ikob.be
Die Jury wird kurz nach Ende der Bewerbungsfrist aus bekannten Kuratorinnen und Direktorinnen der Euregio Maas-Rhein, der Wallonie und Flandern besetzt werden.

Bis zum 15. September 2019 werden die Preisträgerinnen und Preisträger informiert werden.

Der 1. Preis besteht aus einem Produktions- und Ankaufsbudget in Höhe von 7.500 €.
Der 2. Preis besteht aus einem Produktions- und Ankaufsbudget in Höhe von 5.000 € und
beim 3. Preis handelt es sich um einen regionalen Förderpreis in Höhe von 1.500 €.

Die offizielle Verkündigung der Preisträgerinnen und Preisträger findet am Tag der Vernissage am 20. Oktober 2019 um 17 Uhr im IKOB - Museum für Zeitgenössische Kunst in Eupen statt.

Pour la première fois en 26 ans d’existence l'IKOB - Musée d'Art Contemporain d’Eupen lance explicitement le Prix d’Art IKOB pour l’art féministe.
Sont conviés à participer à ce prix des artistes - femmes et hommes - dont le travail contribue à la diffusion des idées et idéaux féministes. Tous les artistes belges, néerlandais, luxembourgeois et allemands, et explicitement aussi les artistes d’Ostbelgien, ont jusqu’au 1 septembre pour poser leur candidature en envoyant un portfolio numérique.

Le portfolio doit contenir les informations suivantes : une biographie brève, une liste des principales expositions auxquelles l'artiste a participé, une courte explication sur le rapport de l’artiste au féminisme ainsi que des illustrations des œuvres majeures. Le volet principal de la participation au concours consistera en une ébauche d'œuvre, une œuvre qui, si l'artiste remporte un prix, devra être réalisée pour l’inauguration de l’exposition programmée le 20 octobre 2019 à l’IKOB. Le portfolio ne doit pas dépasser la taille de 10 MB. Le jury sera composé de conservatrices et de directrices connues originaires de l’Euregio Meuse-Rhin, de Wallonie et de Flandre.

Le vainqueur remportera un budget de production et d'acquisition de 7 500 €.
Le deuxième prix est un budget de production et d’acquisition de 5 000 € et le troisième, un prix d’encouragement régional s'élevant à 1 500 €.

L'annonce officielle des lauréats aura lieu le jour du vernissage, à savoir le 20 octobre 2019 à 17 h à l’IKOB, Musée d'Art Contemporain à Eupen.

For the first time in its 26-year history IKOB- Museum of Contemporary Art in Eupen is announcing the IKOB Art Prize expressly as a prize for feminist art.

An invitation is being issued to artists of all gender whose work contributes to the dissemination of feminist ideas and ideals. Until 1 September 2019, everybody living in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Germany, as well as in East Belgium in particular, may apply with a digital portfolio.

The portfolio should contain the following information: a short biography, a list of the most important exhibition participations, a short explanation of the artist’s own relationship to the theme of feminism, and reproductions of relevant works. The most important part of the application is the design for a still-to-be-realised work which should be created, in the case of the applicant’s being awarded a prize, by the opening of the ensuing exhibition on 20 October 2019 at the IKOB.

The first prize consists of a production- and purchase-budget in the amount of 7,500 euros.
The second prize consists of a production- and purchase-budget in the amount of 5,000 euros;
the third prize is a regional grant in the amount of 1,500 euros.

The jury will convene by 15 September 2019, whereupon the prize recipients will be informed. The exhibition will be realised at the IKOB.

The official announcement of the award winners will take place on the day of the opening, 20 October 2019, at 5 pm at the IKOB - Museum of Contemporary Art in Eupen.
