Die japanischen Künstler Yoshitomo Nara und Hiroshi Sugito sind Freunde. Im Sommer 2004 war Nara nach Wien geladen, ins Gastatelier der Österreichischen Galerie Belvedere im Augarten, und nahm seinen Kollegen gleich mit. So haben beide ihre Ateliers in Nagoya und Tokio gegen ein fremdes, aber gemeinsames Studio getauscht, um einen neuen malerischen Ansatz zu erproben. Entstanden ist eine poetische Manifestation von Kindheit und Phantasie, die sich an Motiven und Szenen des berühmten Filmmusicals «The Wizard of Oz» orientiert.
